Parents, Players and Coaches,
Our Board met on August 9, 2019 to discuss and prepare for the Fall 2019 season. After much discussion and with heavy hearts; we have elected to cancel the Fall 2019 season. Please know that this was NOT an easy decision, but one we believe will lead to the betterment of the league.
Many of you have played with the WHGSA family for several seasons, you may recall the Tax Day Floods and then Hurricane Harvey. These 2 catastrophic events left our park in need of repairs and improvements. At the time, we felt strongly about rebuilding our city and our park, so we pushed on, with minimal repairs and changes. Now with the light poles being replaced we have decided to work in conjunction with Harris County Parks, to get the park improvement work completed.
We, as a Board, are going to use this time to ensure that we make your family’s softball experience the best it can be; this includes not only improvements to the park, but working with our UIC and softball resources to offer better player development, coaches clinics, umpires and a better defined vision for our league. If you are interested in helping, please please do not hesitate to reach out. email@example.com.
Last, but not least, we know many of you will go to play ball in another park. We hope you will come back and for those of you who will miss WHGSA during this time we will be offering a Player’s clinic in October 2019. It will include 4hrs of instruction, play and skills building in addition to a t-shirt, picture and lots of fun for age groups 6U-12U. We hope to see you there.
For those of you new to our league, who may have been looking forward to this season, we hope you will come back to play with us. Please look for an email with a special discount code to use when registering with us next Spring.
Again, please know that we are NOT giving up on West Houston Girls Softball League, we are only taking the time to offer improvements for the betterment of our players!
We will refund all paid registrations back to the credit card used during registration. If you have any questions, concerns or just want to get more information please feel free to contact anyone of our Board Members.
